My First Day In Korea

Monday, May 14th, an early morning mist settles over Seoul Station as pigeons gather for the night’s leftover scraps.  The station building seems out of place in this massive Asian city. A closer look at the description reveals that it was constructed and designed to replicate the Central Station in Lucerne, Switzerland.  I’ve been to that station, and it fits into the Swiss Alps. Yet in this city, the European architecture stands out. Near the station, vibrant blooming rose gardens and lush walkways contrast with the clash of the city and a large statue of a Kang Woo-kyu, a Korean independence fighter, holding a hand grenade.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
